Leonard "Len" Roy Butcher
June 27, 1940
May 17, 2023
Name: Leonard Roy Butcher

Date of Birth: June 27, 1940

Date of Death: May 17, 2023

Leonard Butcher was born on June 27, 1940 in Bible Hill Nova Scotia, and those who knew him well knew that he liked to be called Len.

Len is survived by his sons Stephen Butcher (Elaine), Mike Butcher (Cathy); his grandchildren Alex Butcher (Andrea), Erin Butcher (James), and his great grandchildren Iris Butcher, and Allister Butcher.

Len was a very kind, and gentle soul with a wonderful sense of humour, and he worked for decades as a Forest Ranger with the Department of Natural Resources Canada.

He was an avid outdoorsman’s who took life in stride, and didn’t let much get him down. Len was very social, and enjoyed meeting, and getting to know new people.

Len also loved nature, and animals, and he had a special place in his heart for dogs, particularly his Nova Scotia Duck Trolling Retriever Niki who he is now reunited with.

Len's last days were spent surrounded by his family who loved him dearly, including his two great grandchildren.

Len's final moments were spent with his son, and his grandson by his side as he left this life, and journeyed into the next.
