The family of Myna Mann share the sad news of her passing at Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow on August 3rd, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Robert Mann, on May 14, 1998. Myna was born October 31st, 1932 to parents Thomas and Jean Davidson, Irish immigrants who settled in the Niagara area. She was one of five girls in a family of 14, predeceased by Annie, Edgar, Thomas, William, Harold, Kenneth, Robert, Gilbert, Alexander. She is survived by sisters Gertrude Rutka of Hamilton, Agnes (Ronald) Wingfield of Sidney, BC, Patricia Black of Grimsby and brother James Davidson (Lillian) of Trout Lake.
She will be remembered by her three children, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, Clifford Mann (Anne) of Lucknow and their sons Nicholas (Satomi), Russell (Diana), and James (Randi); Marlene Haviland (John) of Surrey, BC and their children Elliott and Natalie; and Chad Mann (Sue Richmond) of Langside and his children Sarah (Justine) and Josh. Great grandchildren Davis, Anthony, George, Katrina, and Lily.
She enjoyed living in the country, particularly having horses, and over the years they kept a team to help around the farm. She always looked forward to returning to Chad’s to visit Sarah’s horses. She listened to country music and she and Bob would often sing-along to their favourite songs. They liked to dance and met many friends square-dancing with the Huron Bruce Swingers.
Myna loved her large family and they were always welcome at her table. She found family where ever she was; within the congregation at South Kinloss Presbyterian Church, at Sepoy Manor, Messy Church and finally with the community at Pinecrest Manor. She loved children and kept her youthful delight in life long past her youth.
She will be missed dearly.
