June 10, 2022
The Lord called home His faithful servant Irene (Farrell) Boyle on June 10th, 2022 in her 94th year. Irene lived a long and productive life always showing respect, care, and compassion for others. She was predeceased by her loving husband Francis (2001), and son Kevin (2010), as well as parents Edward and Alberta Farrell and siblings Glenn (Ina) Farrell, Anne (Ron) Alexander, Tom Farrell, and Ray (Sylvia) Farrell.

After a short career as a dedicated teacher, Irene devoted most of her working life to being an active farming partner with Francis and a loving and dedicated mother to their six children. Irene leaves to mourn Bryan (Janet) Boyle, Bonnie Boyle, Kerry Boyle, Heather (Sam) Finnie, and Corinne (John) Louther. She was loved and adored by fifteen grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Butts, Brittany Boyle (Alan McKenzie), Matthew Boyle (Emily Kiddie), Shane Harrigan (Ping Lin), Mallory Harrigan, Skye Harrigan (River Kawa), Gabrielle (Greg) Smith, Spencer Finnie (Christina Fanone), Brandon Finnie (Sara Gossell), Joseph Finnie, Bo Louther, Colton Louther (Maddi Bishop), Chase Louther, Taylor (Chad) Nicholson and Madison (Kenny) McBride.

Irene treasured her great-grandchildren and was “GG” to Cole and Avery Butts, Eleanor and Beatrice McKenzie, Enzo Harrigan, Hisaki Kawa, Benjamin, Julianna, Charlotte, and Alexander Smith, Harper and Sloane Nicholson, and Linleigh McBride.

She will also be missed by daughter-in-law Tracey (Jamie) Matthews-Hodge, son-in-law Kevin Harrigan and sisters-in-law Bessie Farrell, Marjory Armstrong and Mary Boyle.

Irene’s strong organizational skills and positive attitude allowed her to provide support to all her children's interests including sports, church, school, music, and 4-H activities. Irene was involved in many church and spiritual organizations over her lifetime. She was also engaged in and provided leadership to many community organizations such as 4-H, Farm Forum, Folk School, Women's Institute, and Purple Grove Community Centre.

Irene has had a very positive impact on her community and many individuals over her lifetime. She truly valued her relationships with family and friends.
