Grandpa Jim
When we think back on our time with Grandpa Jim a few words come to mind Strong, Dedicated, Passionate, caring but the one word that comes to mind the most is LOVE.
He shared his love in so many ways…
He shared his love with the farming industry, his strong passion for agriculture and his drive to make hay is what he is known best for county wide.
His love for his grandchildren was a love like no other. He talked with such praise and proudness any chance he could as he would tell stories about any of our latest accomplishments. He taught us to dream big and work hard for what you want. When asked if we where Jim’s granddaughters, it was always a sense of pride to be able to respond with Yes.
Grandpa was always very eager to watch and learn about his great grandchildren. He would pat his lap for them to sit and he would reach in for a big hug and a high five. There was always a twinkle in his eyes as they would talk amongst themselves while eating their favourite doughnuts.
Love took to a whole new level when it came to his admiration for Grandma Eleanor. Grandpa showed us all what it truly means to love someone, he showed us you do whatever it takes to make them happy and never give up. His countless sleepless nights to ensure she had the best care wherever she needed to be did not go unnoticed. His dedication to get dressed up to spend every supper with grandma was something to be proud about. I think we can all agree that a love like theirs is few and fair between.
And lastly Grandpa Jim is known as a legacy that many looked up too and strive to be, this small community around us came to idolize him in so many ways and his stories will be told and retold for many more years to come.
You will be forever missed down here by so many, but we are comforted that you will be at peace again with Grandma.
Grandpa forever shine down your love on us all. We hope heaven is full of lushest green fields of Hay and you are once again making hay while the sun shines.
James Marshal Gibson better known as Grandpa Gibson . . . . They Just don’t make them like that anymore.
I wish Grandpas never Died.

I have many great memories of Jim while hanging out at the Gibson ranch. I would like to extend our sympathies to the Gibson family - he was a giant of a man who will be missed.
Please accept my sincere condolences to all of Jim's family. When I think of Jim, I think of a hard working man, that was him. My memories go back to when I worked with Grant who farmed with the Gibson's, always busy to get one field done, and onto the next, however a bit of time to have a drink and a visit, sometimes during, or just before heading off. Playing a round of cards with Jim at the Gilchrist table. Memories of the day Jim came to my shed to tell me that his brother Allan had just passed away, and sharing some stories. I recall our visits when he came to the office to pay his taxes, and of course our last visit and chat that we had at Abbey's wedding. To Jim's family hold onto the good memories and stories. Take care. Rest in piece Jim.
David, Peggy, Christine, Scott and Darryl and families.
