WWII Veteran

Frank Hawthorne of Lucknow died January 7, 2021 at Pinecrest Manor at the age of 96. Beloved Husband of Shirley (nee Martin) for 66 years. Frank was born in Goderich, Ontario on November 27, 1924 to his late parents Ruby (Struthers) & Walter Hawthorne. Dear father of Dianne Hawthorne of Wingham, and Barbara Larsen and Dave Taczynski of London. Cherished grandfather of Jeffrey Larson. Brother of Donald (Patricia) of Toronto, and John of Beaverton. Predeceased by his son Jim, grandson Timothy, brothers Robert and Charles, and sister Doris. Frank was proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 309. Frank was a long-time employee of Silverwood Dairies. He served as Clerk of Kinloss Township for several years. Due to Covid 19 restrictions a graveside service will be held at Greenhill Cemetery when it is safe to do so. Arrangements entrusted to MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow. Shirley, Diane, and Barb:  I am so sorry for your loss.  Frank was a nice, gentle man.  I remember him from church, and of course through knowing you, Barb.  Frank took part in my Dad's funeral service.  This is a difficult time for you, and my thoughts are with you.  Cherish your memories.
