To lose Chauncey is absolutely heartbreaking.  It was an honour and gift to know Chauncey and Dave and Sam these past few years.  I will carry Chauncey's sweetness and kindness with me always.

I’m so very sorry to hear of Chauncey’s passing; Although I didn’t know Chauncey as an adult, she was in my Kindergarten class and many other classes up to grade 13, and was certainly one of the kindest individual’s I’ve known. There were so many good and fun times throughout these 14 years. My sincerest condolences.

We are so very very sad to hear this news. I went to highschool with Chauncey and i remember her to be quiet and kind. She was kind enough a few years back to show my mom the setup she had in her house to care for her husband as my mom was going through a similar situation. My mom was wowed at her calm, gentle nature and strength. Chauncey was also so kind to take in our parrot Fonzie when we were looking for a new home for him. She sent us pictures of him in his new home and it was obvious that he was in a place where he was loved and for this we were so grateful to her. You all have been in our thoughts pretty much non stop and we send you many well wishes during this very difficult time.

To Chauncey's family :  It's hard to put into words any thoughts of condolence to cope with this tragic loss.  I was a client of Chauncey for 5 plus years, until last year when I retired.  Not only did she walk my dogs every day while I was at work, she was my back up for days I had to be away for any length of time.  Sam would sometimes come with her to walk.  My heart goes out to Sam, may he find strength in those who love and surround him. To lose both Dave and Chauncey is unfathomable. My deepest sympathy to you for the loss of these two incredible people.

We were very sad to hear of Chauncey's tragic accident and death.  As neighbours of her family in Kincardine, we often talked with her as she visited her grandmother, Marg Riggin, across the street, usually accompanied by her son Sam, frequently with her husband Dave, and many times with one or more of her dogs.  She always seemed to be active - walking, cycling, adopting a new animal, looking after clients' dogs, and laughing!  She was such a force of nature, which makes it so difficult to believe we won't see her again. Our best wishes to her family as they process this incomprehensible event, and hoping they will find consolation in their many wonderful memories of this strong, bright, engaging, and warm daughter, grand-daughter, cousin, neice, sister, aunt, wife and mother.

We are so deeply saddened by the passing of Chauncey, there are no words.  You have both held Chauncey is such high regard and admiration over the years and we know how much you truly held her in your heart not as a "daughter in law" but a daughter and a friend.  Don... you have always said that Chauncey is a true gift and the most selfless person.  This tragedy is an unfathomable loss.  Sam will be surrounded by his close relationship with both sets of Grandparents and extended family.  Sam will be given the same qualities over the years that both your family and the Jackson family instilled into Chauncey and David, which made them both truly remarkable, kind and loving parents.  There is no doubt that your families will honour their memories for little Sam.

I remember being invited to he parents house once when i attended KDSS. It was a privilege to have met Chanucey and her family. She always had a smile on her face! I can’t imagine what you’ve both been going through. Words can’t come close to express how we are both feeling right now, as I’m sure anyone who knew Chauncey would agree.  She truly was an amazing woman and will be missed in so many ways by so many, many people.  We were lucky enough to be one of her neighbours for the past 5 years, and are so thankful for it giving no us a chance to meet Chauncey & Dave.  She helped so many times when I moved in with Hughie, getting him after school from the bus, I don’t know what I would have done without her.  We’ll always remember her smile and great sense of humour, no matter what... even when the pigs or chickens got out 😊.  I know this is an awful thing for poor Sam to go through, but I hope that knowing how amazing his Mom was helps him through this. May she Rest In Peace 

Chauncey was always a ray of sunshine at Elgin Market. As the coordinator of our breakfast club program, she always stepped up to give all she could to our students. As Sam's mom, she demonstrated how strong, devoted, resilient and caring she was, despite dealing with so much. On behalf of all of our school, we promise to take good care of Sam for you and are honoured to have known you. Rest In Peace, you will be hugely missed.

Rob and I are heart-broken over Chauncey's, as well as Dave's passing!  She was a wonderful young lady with all the right passions... never about "self".  We feel privileged to have known her from the time she was a toddler until she was a dedicated young woman.  Her years were young, Barb and Brian, but some give far more in a short time than many in a lifetime... If there is any salvation in all of this, as two who have known you all for many years now, your families are a strong and caring foundation for young Sam.
