My memories of Dave come from my early teenage years.  I remember him as a fun-loving guy that always was there for his friends. I was a bit on the edge of his friend group, but he was always kind to me. 

To all his loved ones, I am so sorry for your loss. 

In memory of my great friend, Dave. I haven't known how to write this and have been stuck in a kind of in between. On one had you are still with us and on the other you are gone. Years and years of fun times, sad times, memories and hi-jinks!! Good god we had some fun eh!? I'll miss you every day. I'll remember our walks on the beach, our trips to the states late at night during highschool when nobody knew where we had been! I'll not forget the times we got in trouble or the times we helped people when they needed it. We could go on and on with our stories till the cows tipped over!! You'll occupy as special place in this world in my heart and I can only hope you occupy a place with Chauncey in another world somewhere out there. I loved you and we fought until we cried sometimes but we were friends until the end. Right until the last waning days of your beautiful space on this earth. We laughed when  nobody else would and we knew in our hearts why we were laughing. Rest well brother and see you on the other other side

My heart goes out to the entire family during this difficult time. I have fond memories of Dave at Camp Kintail and seeing him around the family home while visiting with Laurie.  May your memories and the peace Dave has now found bring you comfort. 

It is with tremendous sadness that we heard about Dave's passing.  Trista and I had so many great times and laughs with him throughout the years and were constantly inspired by his bravery and toughness in the face of his MS diagnosis.  From canoe trips, cottage visits, concerts and house visits, Dave was always up for a fun experience in the true spirit of friendship and adventure.  His wonderful sense of humour, wit, generosity, and relentless positivity will be dearly missed.  Our deepest sympathies are with his family at this time.

Dave was always larger than life in all my years knowing him through Presbyterian Young Peoples Society. Although it has to be 25 years since the last time I saw him, I remember him fondly. We would forever be the brunt of each other's sketches at PYPS events.

I will always cherish the many adventures had with Dave. He was a comedian, adventurer, explorer and playful troublemaker. While way leads onto way and our paths drifted, he will always be remembered as a close friend, an important part of my journey and incredible force of nature in this world. David will be truly missed. He was greatly loved. My foundest memories will always be the times he stayed with me as a young boy, he was so precious with Mickell (just a toddler). He fought a good fight and was a blessing to visit and behold his courage and love. Always so kind and gentle. Blessed to have been his aunt. My prayers and with the entire family and my love.
