Alexander James MacInnis of Formosa died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on July 2, 2020 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Jean (nee Naylor) for 57 years. Alex was born in Wingham, Ontario on May 22, 1939 to his late parents Mary (Finleon) and Daniel MacInnis. Son-in-Law to the late Jessie (Moss) and Gordon Naylor. Cherished father of Ron (Sue) of Sault Ste. Marie, Heather of Leamington, Sandy of Hanover, Gord of Hanover and John (Wendy) of Belmont. Beloved Grandpa of Derek, Shannon, Kyle, Ryan (Marissa), Josh (Morgan), Riley, Luke, Katelyn and Kamryn. Beloved Great Papa of Kaylie, Jessie, Allie, Rory and soon to be Remi. Dear brother of Margaret Steffler of Edmonton, Eugene (Rose) of London, John of Goderich, Shirley McLeod of Goderich, brother-in-law to Bev MacInnis of Dungannon, Colleen Naylor of Sarnia, Glen Naylor of Winnipeg and Doris (Pat) Melady of Cambridge.
Predeceased by brother Daniel, sister Rita Sweeney, brother-in-law’s John Sweeney, Don Steffler, George and Bill Naylor, sister-in-law’s Kay, Margaret and Agnes Naylor, great grandson’s Bradie & Brodie MacInnis and a close nephew.
Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends.
Alex created memories in Wingham, West Wawanosh, Goderich, Langton, Glen Meyer, Durham, Ripley in addition to the places he called home. His travels as a Saw Filer were plenty and he loved to visit family and friends throughout Canada with Jean, his harmonica and music.
A celebration of Alex’s life will be held at a future date when it is possible for everyone to attend and share stories in remembrance of one of the good guys.
His family would like to acknowledge the help from the local doctors, nurses, other medical professionals and friends Sharon Montgomery, Jim and Tim Moss.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the V.O.N Canada, the Canadian Diabetes Association, St. Augustine’s Cemetery or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

We were saddened to hear of Alec's passing today. Sheryl and I were literaly just talking about Alec and you the other day, and how welcoming you folks always were to us. I spent numerous nights as a teenager throwing darts and listening to Alec playing the harmonica while making up some lerics that were always funny.

I have many fond memories of Alex growing up and had some great memories with the entire family. Sending you all my sympathy and hope you can all get through this difficult time. Hanging on to all your great memories together is something to hang on to.
