Beverley Joan Hanson, also known to many as “Frankie”, formerly of Goderich and Point Clark, passed away at Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow on Sunday April 12, 2020 at the age of 88. She was born in Campbellville, ON on July 31, 1931 to the late Elsie and Andrew Frank. Survived by one brother, one sister and several nieces and nephews. Bev was actively involved in AA groups throughout the region and was also well known in many musical groups and fiddler jamborees for her ability on both violin and piano. Due to the COVID 19 restrictions, private family arrangements have been entrusted to the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow. A Jamboree to honour Bev’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society or Pet Rescue are greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

I am so sorry to hear about Joan's passing. She was a beautiful soul and our family has many memories of fun times with Joan and her many four legged friends. My Father, Bill Anderson, was her cousin and he and our Mother Rose had very warm regard for Joan. We were lucky enough to have her play her fiddle at my brother's wedding. She was a great lady and her letters were the best!
I am fortunate to have known Joan and will hold onto those memories.
To the Family of Bev: I am very sorry for your loss.
I met Bev through my husband, Paul Karn, son of Gordon and Patricia Karn of Guelph. Paul and I rented cottages in the Kincardine area and would visit Bev. I loved her quaint cottage in Point Clark. She always welcomed us and was a fun host.
Sadly Paul was killed in December 2019 in a single vehicle accident and his eldest sister, Debbie passed the same week from terminal cancer.
Life is fragile, but we must still embrace each day as a gift.
So sorry to hear about Joan. I stopped in to visit her a few times in Lucknow and she always knew me right away even after all these years. But she called me Donna Pentelow as that was my name when she babysat me at her farm in Puslinch Township. I remember riding the cows there. I was so glad when I found she was living on Bluewater Beach Road just a few miles away from us before she went to Lucknow. I know she went by Bev or Frankie but she was always Joan to me as that was what we called her when she was married to Bruce. I even got my mother in for some visits in the last few years. I will miss her crazy sense of humour! She always made me laugh.
To all the Hanson family and friends, my heartfelt condolences on the passing of such a wonderful caring Lady. Frankie tought me i could have more fun in recovery,( Fiddlin around in Blyth) Her and her knowledge will be greatly missed. R I P Frankie
