Robert (Bob) Connely Ferguson, of Kincardine, passed away peacefully at home with family and friends by his side
on Saturday, April 11, 2020. Left to mourn his passing are his beloved wife of 65 years,
Shirley (Roberts) Ferguson, his life’s greatest achievements, daughter Kerri (Chris “Patsy”
Patacairk) and his grandson, Zackary (“Zack”). Also survived by his brothers-in-law Bob & Lee Roberts of Sarnia and many nephews and nieces and their offspring. He was predeceased by 2 infant sons, 3 brothers and six sisters.
Bob will be missed by his family, friends and the community. One of his passions was Big Brothers of Canada. As a “Big” in Sarnia, he earned “Big Brother of the Year.” Bob continued with his passion locally and was one of the founders of the Kincardine Big Brothers. He was also a founding member of the Kincardine Probus Club. Bob was an active member of the Knox Presbyterian Church in Kincardine for 50 years and served on many committees during that time. Summer was his favorite time of year and brought with it the annual Scottish Festival which he was part of for many years. Most Saturday nights you would find him on the front porch listening to bagpipes with offers of a drink to anyone passing by. Bob was a favorite of his daughter’s many friends who nicknamed him “Boober” many years ago and he still has that nickname today.
Bob was so grateful for the wonderful care he has received the past two years and the offers of help from so many friends. Special thanks to Drs. Denobriga and Dr. Gunaratne, Ripley, VON, Care Partners (who were the most professional and caring women), our Knox Church family and our many friends and family.

Bob was first rate. I worked with Bob at The Kincardine Scottish Festival. He made an extraordinary effort managing the Scottish Clans area. A musical tribute: John D. Burgess - Performing Piobaireachd

We are so sorry to hear about Bob’s passing. I always had such fond memories of him growing up in Kincardine, especially all the family dinners we had together. He was always so kind, generous and had a great sense of humour. I’m glad Jennifer and the boys got to meet him a few years ago. We will be thinking of you and wish you peace at this difficult time.
We send our condolences to Shirley and family. We remember Bob as a gentleman who would greet you with a friendly warm smile. We respected his important work with the Big Brothers and Sisters in Sarnia and also as a founding member of the organization in Kincardine.
We were so sorry to read about Bob's passing. He was a great supporter of many things, a true community minded person, and a joy to meet and chat with. We remember many Scottish services at Knox Church when Bob looked awesome in his Highland kilt and accessories. His spirit will be missed. Our deepest sympathy, Jo-Ellen & Steve Abercrombie
We are so sad to hear the news about Bob. He always had time for a nice chat when we met and we will miss his big smile and friendly manner. Please accept our deepest sympathy.

Shirley Kerri and Zak, so sorry for your loss in the passing of Bob.
My fondest memory of Bob from our 23 year relationship was his warm and welcoming manner. Always a joy to meet and talk. A true friend that we will sorely miss. May your fond memories carry you through this sorrowful time.
Bob Ferguson is one of the finest human beings that Evelyn and I have ever had the privilege to know. The very embodiment of the Christian spirit. His beautiful smile and his warm friendliness always cheered us up and made us feel good about life. The Turner family will never forget how Bob and his family so kindly shared their home with us and showed us exceptional hospitality when we first came to Canada, when I was called as Minister to Knox Presbyterian Church in Kincardine over 40 years ago. Bob, you will remain in our hearts and be remembered with great love and affection for many long years to come. Rest in peace, dear friend. ❤️
Dear Shirley and family, We were so saddened to hear of Bob's passing. It must be especially hard for you during these strange times of isolation. We miss you both as neighbours and we always enjoyed Bob's wonderful smile and cheerful greeting, and miss our chats in the yard. I still think of him whenever the pine cones are all over! He did such a great job serving with the Scottish Festival, welcoming the bands on his lawn and looking magnificent in his kilt. He will be sorely missed. Hugs from Corinne and Bill
My deepest sympathies are sent to you, Aunt Shirley, Kerri and Zach at this sad time. I had to smile at the memory of the Kincardine summer bagpipe parade and our family visits from Sarnia and how excited I was to 'march' in a parade. That was the highlight of my summer that I shared when we went back to school! Along with oh so many more fabulous memories visiting when we all lived in Sarnia! Love you all! And wish we could get up there to see you all!
Ginny Ferguson, #3 daughter of Bob's brother, Jim. They are now reunited after 50 years!
Shirley; I didn't know Bob till I met him at Knox Presbyterian Church just a few years ago; what a gentleman who welcomed me every Sunday morning with the best ever smile!
I'm so very sorry for your loss. In these uncertain days I can't be there to offer a hug, but know that I'm with you, virtually, in your grief.
Bob was always professional and pleasant to deal with at work. He often provided some entertaining facts on our many trips on the Bruce a construction bus. RIP

Like so many of Ferg's firiends, I benefitted from knowing Bob & Shrl and there are many 'moments' that are and will continue to be great memories.
