Shirley Frances Brooks of Lucknow passed away at Wingham Hospital on December 21, 2019 at the age of 92. She was the beloved wife of the late Gordon Brooks who predeceased her in 2015. Shirley was born in Ashfield Township on July 9, 1927 to the late Annie (Fitzgerald) and James Culbert. She will be greatly missed by her children Ruth Savage of Kincardine, Don & Lynn Brooks of Lucknow, and Kathy & Jim Dickson of Kincardine. Lovingly remembered by her 13 grandchildren: Travis (Melissa) Remington, Cailyn (Chris) Norris, Meagan (Nick) Chammoun, Brad Savage (Julie), Blair Savage (Ashley), Alexa (Jeremy) McQuillen, Tyler (Sarah) Brooks, Dani (Luke) Lindsay, Brendan Dickson (Paisley), Ashley Dickson (Mike), Mitch Dickson, Josh (Robin) Johnston, Lindsay (Jason) Needham, and her 22 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Janice Remington, son in law Don Savage, her brother Gerald Culbert and sisters Beatrice Will and Jean Teeft. Visitation held at MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow on Friday December 27, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Funeral Service conducted at the chapel on Saturday December 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Spring Interment in Greenhill Cemetery. Grandsons will be Pallbearers, while the granddaughters are flower bearers. Donations to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation or the Lucknow United Church appreciated as expresssions of sympathy.

i have many great memories of your mom as we travelled together to Eastern Star for many years. Shirley was a dedicated and faithful member who took pride in any position she filled.
There were also many hilarious card games and wonderful dinners the old gang of 8 gathered for on New Year’s Eve and birthdays.
