Tom Downey of Holyrood, beloved son of the late Williard & Shirley Downey, passed away at the Wingham & District Hospital on Monday November 4, 2019 at the age of 54. He was born on March 16, 1965 in Kincardine, Ontario. Greatly missed by his sister Mary Downey of Waterloo and Auntie Margaret Johnston of Hamilton. Also survived by several cousins and his co-workers and family at Euro-Parts. Visitation will be held at the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow on Wednesday November 6, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be conducted from the chapel on Thursday November 7, 2019 at 1 PM with interment in South Kinloss Cemetery. Donations to the South Kinloss Church or the charity of your own choice are greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

He loved to travel & booked many trips through our office...I remember one trip that he booked out west & he bought a lottery ticket & won! He brought me a lovely coffee mug from one of his trips, which is my favourite to this day...may you Rest In Peace, Tom. ♥️

Tom was created the way God intends all Humans to be kind to oneself and to others his heart was huge for human interaction he loved his family his work family he was always so proud of what others were doing and quick to find out what's up if you were feeling down and out he once carried my groceries after SURGURY right to my door instead of my car and put them on my top steps his heart was big he was likable and did anything for a person

Mary, I was shocked and so sorry about Tommy's passing. I remember you's both as little kids getting on the school bus every tiem the driver picks you's both. We lived on the same concession as your family did then we moved to Lucknow.

What a good, generous, kind, hardworking man, it was a privelage knowing him. I remember being a young mom getting groceries at Knechtels and he was always there with a friendly conversation and offering to help carry our bags to the car rain or shine. We extend our heart felt condolences.
