Obituary

Robert William James Lyons, of Lucknow, passed away on Tuesday August 27, 2019 at Wingham & District Hospital in his 90th year. He was born in West Wawanosh Township on January 8, 1930 to the late Ureana (Purves) and Robert Lyons. Bob was a farmer and also worked at the Lucknow Sales Barn. He was a life member of the Lucknow & District Lions Club and enjoyed serving his community. Bob is survived by his sisters Doris Culbert of Lucknow and Margaret Neabel of Mississauga. Also missed by his nephews Don (Linda) Culbert of Dungannon, Jack (Karen) Culbert of Holland Centre and Brian (Karen) Neabel of Mississauga and nieces Barb (Ron) Snowden of Lucknow, Betty (Brad) Lewis of Blyth, Dorothy (Dave) Bere of Dungannon, Joanne (Wolfgang) Weber of Clinton and Sharon (James) Jones of Edmonton. Bob is also remembered by his many close friends and extended family members. Predeceased by his parents, brothers-in-law Howard Culbert, and John Rae, and nephew Dan Neabel. The family would like to extend a thank you for the incredible care he received at Sepoy Manor and Bremar Nursing Home as well as the Wingham & District Hospital for their care and compassion shown to both Bob and his family in his final days. A Funeral Service will be held from the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow on Sunday September 1, 2019 at 2 PM with visitation beginning at 12 noon.
