Violet Jean Elliott of Lucknow and formerly of Ripley, passed away at Braemar Nursing Home, Wingham on April 8, 2017 at the age of 86. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Elliott. Violet was born in Ashfield Township on July 12, 1930 to the late Grace (MacLennan) and Frank Hamilton. Dear mother of Linda (Ron) Stanley of Lucknow, Wayne (Karen) of Barrie, Debbie (Murray) Hackett of Alberta, Brian of Alberta and Ron (Anita) of Lucknow. Missed by her 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Survived by her sisters Betty Hannah and Donna Gauntlett, and her in laws Lorne Cook, Jim Campbell, Wilma Elliott and Eileen Miller. Violet is predeceased by her son Murray, grandson Newton, great-granddaughter Kylie and sisters Isabel Spilsbury, Francis Smuck, Raeleen Campbell, Shirley Hunter, Lorraine Hamilton and Marion Cook. In keeping with Violet's wishes cremation has taken place and a private funeral service will be conducted. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to Braemar Residents' Council for Dementia Support, as expressions of sympathy.Donations
