We are so sad to hear of John's passing. He was such a good person, always a big smile when I would meet him. Our sincere condolences to the MacKenzie family.
Wendy, Joan & Beth. I was so shocked to hear of Johns sudden passing. John & I grew up together in Lucknow. Our birthdays are only 14 days apart. He was a good man & a good friend.
I was very saddened and shocked when I found out yesterday (Friday) that John had passed away. I had 2 opportunities recently to chat with John and he was so positive excited about life. He was looking forward to travelling to a Third World country to help out.
My association with John goes back to 1980 when I joined the Ripley Wolves Intermediate Hockey team and there I had the pleasure of watching one of the 2 (along with Brent Armstrong) offensive weapons in the league. John had a knack for scoring goals and it was a thrill to watch him turn a defence man inside out by slipping the puck between his legs! Well, we won championships those 2 years and John was a major part of those teams. I think about John and those two great years of playing together often. My condolences to John's family.
