June Bremner, beloved wife of the late Peter Bremner, of Lucknow, passed away at her residence on Sunday April 24, 2016 in her 93rd year. Dear Mother of Patricia Sims of Kincardine, Michael Bremner of Alberta and John Bremner of Ashfield Township. Greatly missed by granddaughters Carolyn and Lisa and great grandchildren Amelie, Kylie and Daniel. Predeceased by grandson Kelly Sims, son-in-law Earl Sims and sister Dorothy Payne. A Funeral Service will be conducted from the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow on Tuesday April 26, 2016 at 2 PM with visitation one hour prior.

To June's family: I knew June from the Lucknow Legion. She would always make brownies for the lunches we served. They were simply the best brownies I had ever tasted. I had to have the recipe! One day I called her and told her that I was Steve Howard's wife (president of the Legion at the time) and would she mind giving me her recipe. A lot of people won't share their favourite recipes, but she very kindly agreed and gave it to me right over the phone. I have made this recipe many, many times and have shared it with my friends. We all say that they are the BEST brownies ever! We have won 1st prize at the local fairs and have made them for fund-raising auctions (in fact, I am making them right now for Brookside school). I am so grateful that she was gracious enough to share this recipe with me and whenever I serve them, I always tell people that they are June Bremner's brownies, and share the story of how I got the recipe. Hope that gives you a little smile in your time of sadness. Thanks, Suzanne
