It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert William Powell, who passed away peacefully at Stratford Memorial Hospital on September 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob will be deeply missed by his loving partner of 33 years, Michele, and his four children, Katherine, Jennifer (Neil), Chantell (Mike), and Joshua.
He was a proud grandfather to Autumn (Cody), Brailin, MaKayla, Karlee, Chloe, Hayley (Lucas), Nick, and Damian, and a cherished great-grandfather to Aaliyah, Carson, Olivia, and Saige.
Bob is also survived by his sisters, Vicki Hanna (Joe) and Shelley Powell, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Bob retired from the Sifto Salt Mine last September after an incredible 46 years of service. Throughout those years, he was dedicated and hardworking, taking great pride in his work and in the many people he came to know along the way.
Above all else, Bob was happiest when he was surrounded by family. Those who knew him will remember his love of family, his laughter, his friendships, and the countless moments that brought everyone together.
As we say goodbye, we like to imagine Bob exactly where he would want to be - sitting on a deck, watching over all of us, enjoying a cold beer alongside his siblings, friends, and parents who went before him.
Rest peacefully, Bob. You will be forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
At Bob’s request, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lucknow Legion on Saturday October 24, 2026 from 1-3 PM

So....so sad to hear of Bob passing. Met him and his entire family back in 1974 I think. He was a great help in helping Rick on the turkey farm in Auburn. He was always happy....a jolly guy.
And so sorry to hear about Michele....whom I don't think I ever met but possibly once.
Deepest condolences to Vicki and Shelley and to the rest of the family and also to Michele's family.

Michelle and family, I’m so very sorry for your loss. Bob was such a great neighbor and such a wonderful person to have known. I have so many good memories of the times we’d come down and sit in the back room, have a drink, and just hang out and visit. I’ll always cherish those memories. ❤️
I can just picture Bob up there with Aart now, sitting back having their little drink and cigarette together, probably carrying on like old times. ❤️ I know Aart would have been happy to see him again.
Bob will truly be missed. Thinking of you all and sending lots of love, strength, and hugs during this incredibly difficult time. My heart goes out to you, Michelle, and your family. ❤️
Rest easy, Bob. Give Aart a hug from me. ❤️
My deepest condolences to Bob and his family during this difficult time. Thinking of you all and wishing you strength, comfort, and peace in the days ahead. ❤️

Very sorry to hear about Bob. Bob was a kind gentleman who was a friend of my late husband Paul Pentland (worked together at Sifto). Bob took the time last year to visit and call numerous times to check on him while he was unwell. Paul really appreciated his friendship. Bob was also kind and generous to help us out with something on our farm, and offered to help in anyway he could. He will be missed. Please accept our condolences during your time of sorrow.
