Obituary

Alice Ruth Ritchie (nee Johnston), beloved wife of the late Clarence R. Ritchie, of Lucknow, passed away peacefully at Pinecrest Manor on Monday June 29, 2026 at the age of 94.  She was born in Wingham on June 12, 1932, daughter of the late Ella (Elliott) and Gershom Johnston. 

Greatly missed by children Barb (Larry) Harper of Belgrave, Brenda (Nick) Barclay of Egmondville, Steve (Linda) Ritchie of Sundre Alberta, Don (Karen) Ritchie of Lucknow and Maryanne (Fred) Leget of London, 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and1 great-great grandchild.  Also survived by brother Jack Johnston of Strathroy and several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by brothers Elliott, William, Ken and Jim Johnston and sisters Donalda Smith, Lois McMichael, Ariel Wood and June Robinson. 

Visitation will be held from MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, on Thursday July 2, 2026 from 7-9 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted from the Lucknow United Church on Friday July 3, 2026 at 1 PM with visitation also one hour prior.  Interment Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow.

Our sympathy to all Alices family and loved ones.. She was an amazing woman and a wonderful baker. She was one of my 4H homemaking Clùb leaders for Kairshea WI. in the 1960s . Then we reconnnected when they camped at lake Huron resort. WE got to enjoy her baking when she had her Saturday bake sales there!

Alice will be greatly missed, I enjoyed our little talks throughout the day She had a lot of good stories and helpful suggestions she was so modest about her hard-working days at PC .
