Obituary

MCFARLAN, James (Jim), Robert - formerly of Holyrood, passed away at Huronlea Home for the Aged in Brussels on February 18, 2026 in his 85th year. Jim was born in Bruce Township on June 24 1941 to the late Mary Jane (Jones) and Donald McFarlan. He will be sadly missed by his brothers and sister: Elmer McFarlan of Wingham, Leonard (Josie) McFarlan of Guelph, and Helen (Charles) Osborne of Kitchener. Predeceased by his siblings: Winnie (Frank) Siegel of Kincardine, Ivan (Joan) McFarlan of Kincardine, and Allan McFarlan of Teeswater. Also predeceased by his sister-in-law Muriel (Elmer) McFarlan.

Jim farmed his property in Holyrood until he retired to Huronlea Home for the Aged where he was well cared for. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, neighbours and friends. 

 A funeral service will be held at the Mackenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow on Saturday May 9, 2026 at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior followed by interment in South Kinloss Cemetery.

My condolences his long time friend and partner Anita Hackett as well as his family. I met Jim later in life bringing Anita to visit. May she and the family take comfort that he is at peace.
