Obituary for Marion Eleanor Robb (nee Reid)
June 12,1929 – Sunday, October 12, 2025
It is with love and gratitude that we announce the passing of Marion Eleanor Robb, at the age of 96. A devoted sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and great-aunt. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Born and raised on Maple Lea Farms near Reid’s Corners. Her parents Lorne and Olive Reid instilled early on, the value of hard work that guided Marion and her siblings Russell, Evelyn, Isla and Gladys. This lesson guided her throughout her life. Together with first her husband Jack Liddle, she helped farm while starting their family. Over the years, she also worked in the kitchen at The Bruce Inn, drove a school bus to Pine River Central School, and spent some time working in the physiotherapy area at Kincardine Hospital. Marion also spent a year in Hamilton with her sister Evelyn where they trained as registered nurses assistants. During all of these years Grandma Marion was happiest when she was preparing a full meal in “no time flat” for family and friends.
Marion had a keen interest in cards and a love for friendly competition. She enjoyed many good games of Bridge with her bridge groups early on in her retirement years and more recently with the Tuesday ladies who came to RVilla. Euchre, and the occasional game of cribbage were also interests. Her greatest joy, however, came from her family — Charles and Barb (predeceased), and their children Kim & John and Kent; Reid (predeceased); Dale and Sandra , and their children Ashley & Gord, Darcey & Emily; Ollie and Brian and their sons Duane & Cait, Derek & Carly, Dwight, Dalton. She followed her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s sports and activities with pride and enthusiasm.
She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Predeceased by her first husband Jack Liddle. Also predeceased by her son Reid Liddle, parents Lorne and Olive Reid, sister Isla (Lovell McQuire), brothers-in-law James Bradley and Dave Nesbit, and daughter-in-law Barb Liddle.
Our family would like to thank the staff at R-Villa for their care and kindness shown to assist Grandma Marion over the past 6 years. We appreciated Dr. Murray’s compassionate caring and guidance as well as the many Doctors and Nurses who provided medical care when Grandma Marion was admitted to the Kincardine Hospital.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Grandma Marion at the Ainsdale Golf Course on Friday, October 17th from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Some special remembrances will be shared at 2:15 p.m.
A private family graveside service will be held with interment at Ripley Cemetery.
In memory of Grandma Marion donations may be made to the Kincardine Hospital Capital Fund.

Charles Dale Oillie and family. Our condolences to all of you. Aunt Marion was a wonderful kind loving person who welcomed all with open arms . She loved life and never let anything or anyone step in her way. I remember her dancing the polka when she married JS. I remember her orange cake out on the farm. But most of all I remember her love for Donnie Da Na myself. She will be missed but with the three of you she and uncle Jake will live in all our hearts. Love always Your cousin Anne and Kevin

Thinking of Marion’s family and friends during this difficult time. Marion had such a kind soul, was always smiling, and was a pleasure to know. She will be missed by so many.
Aunt Marion was small in stature but mighty in spirit. She faced challenges and hardships that might have slowed others, yet she endured each one with grace and determination . Strength isn’t measured by size, but by heart. Our condolence to her family.

In Loving Memory of My Aunt Marion
I will always remember my Aunt Marion with so much love. She was my mom’s sister and my favourite aunt — someone who made my childhood full of laughter and warmth.
I spent so many sleepovers at her house, playing for hours with her daughter Ollie. Every visit was filled with love, comfort, and fun — the kind of memories that stay in your heart forever.
Aunt Marion was kind, caring, and always had a way of making everyone feel welcome. I’ll miss her deeply, but I’m so grateful for all the special times we shared.
Love you always, Aunt Marion. 💕
