After a battle with cancer, Lorrainne passed away on September 23, 2025. She will be greatly missed by siblings Leonard and Liz Smith, Carl Shaw, Keith Shaw and Pat and John Kane. Predeceased by sisters Joan Sauve and Elaine Emmerton and parents John and Alta Smith.Lorrainne grew up with her twin brother Leonard on the home farm on the 8th concession of Huron Township where they participated in many shenanigans over the years. She worked for a time in the service industry in Kincardine, but then headed for London to train. She spent many years working in the insurance industry, where everyone appreciated her hard work, as well as her sense of humour. She spent a great deal of time over the years entertaining her many nieces and nephews Jackie, Shane, Richard, John, Holly, Trevor, Crystal, Julie, Pam, Mike, Tyler, Matthew, Jenna, Blake, Jake, Tanesha, Cooper and several great nieces and nephews. She could always make us laugh, even in her last days in the hospital.
Lorrainne was always ready with a caring listening ear and spent many hours on the phone with everyone in the family helping to solve all of life’s problems. She kindly took on many of us as roommates at various times over the years, for long and short periods of time, and helped send us on the next phases of our lives. She made a positive impact on her family and friends that will never be forgotten.
A private graveside service will be held at the Ripley Cemetery.
