Margaret (“Peggy”) Taylor of Ripley, beloved wife of the late Bob Taylor, passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Kincardine Hospital on Thursday February 13, 2025 at the age of 78. She was born on December 10, 1946, daughter of the late Jean (Stewart) and William Brisbin.
Peggy was born in Midland and grew up on the family farm just outside of Listowel in Perth County. She attended school in Listowel and was active in 4-H for many years. In 1963, when she was 17, she moved to London ON to work as a receptionist at London Life and later moved to Kitchener to work at Mutual Life. On Aug 9, 1969 she married Robert John Taylor and they had 4 children Steven William (1970), Kevin John (1972), Deborah Lynne (1973) and Angela Jean (1977). Peggy lived for her family. She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally and was ever present with words of encouragement, kindness, knowledge, support and advice. She was loved by many for her great kindness, empathy and insights.
Peggy was an outstanding wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had a giant heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. While her children were young, Peggy was a homemaker and mom. She then became a healthcare aide first with homecare and then at Pinecrest Manor nursing home, later attending Georgian College to become a trained Reactivation Specialist for Pinecrest. At home and at work Peggy selflessly helped and supported others. In her retirement she started a casual job with Canada Post in Ripley in addition to assisting her husband with his mail route. Peggy has been an active member in the UCW her entire adult life, participated in the Horticultural Society, and prior to getting rheumatoid arthritis regularly volunteered at the school and arena including the milk program and the booth.
Peggy absolutely loved going to and hearing about her kids and grandkids concerts, baseball, soccer, hockey, skating, ringette, etc. Spending time with her family was her life’s greatest joy! She also loved to travel with her family, complete household DIY renos, engage the entire family in annual baking, pickling and preserving and using her creative mind to make all types of crafts including macrame lawn chairs, quilts, wreaths, afghans, and cross stitch.
Peggy is survived by her children Kevin (Nikki), Debbie, and Angela Taylor, all of Ripley. Greatly missed by grandsons Evan, Will, Colton and Weston. Also survived by sisters and brothers in-law Marion Vader of Listowel, Marilyn (Nelson) Dusky of New Hamburg, Ron Taylor of Belgrave, Mary Ellen (Jim) Keller of Belgrave, Mark (Diane) Taylor of Mitchell and Trudy Taylor of Belgrave and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Steven, brother Donald Brisbin, and in-laws Mary and Jack Taylor.
A private funeral service will take place at the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley. A public celebration of life for both Bob and Peg will be held on Saturday March 1, 2025 at the Ripley Arena from 1-4 PM. Memories will be shared at 1 PM followed by a come and go reception until 4 PM. Spring interment Brandon-Belgrave Cemetery.

Our sincere condolences. I worked with Peggy at Pinecrest for many years, She was a compassionate, caring nurse. We also shared rides to Georgian College where we took the activation in gerontology program. Many a laugh we shared on our rides to and from school. I enjoyed catching up with our Peggy at our Pinecrest reunions. Bob was at many events I catered providing the meat. Everyone liked to gather around and chat with him . Thinking of you all. Sending sincere condolences to Debbie and all of your family, may fond memories of your dear parents forever shine brightly in your hearts. Thinking of you at this difficult time.
My condolences. My late mum (Ann Hughes) was distant cousins with your mother. Your parents welcomed her when she moved to the area and she always had a fun time during their get togethers. I think she loved having a cousin nearby. Please know that while we don’t know each other, your parents’ are remembered!

You have my condolences and sorry I haven’t been in touch. I haven’t been well myself , but I have been thinking of you and your family. Love Fran
Peggy was not only a sister-in-law, having known her for almost 60years, she was one of my best friends and she was always willing to help where she could. A number of years ago when my foot was in contact with the lawn mower she came and took my 2 year old for a number of days. He was familiar with Sesame Street and he called her Miss Piggy the entire time which was his interpretation of Peggy. She will be dearly missed and will miss our regular telephone conversations.
To Kevin and Nikki, Deb, Angie and all those very special Grandson's we send you our deepest condolences. Hold all the love and memories close in your hearts. Love Wendy and Brian Pollock
My heart goes out to Peggy and Bob's entire family during this time.
Please know that you can keep their memory alive by sharing stories
