Henry was born on June 26th 1941 and grew up on the outskirts of Lucknow Ontario. He lived there is entire life, often joking that he had lived his whole life on one road.
At a young age, Henry began his working career helping local farmers before getting his first job with Looby Construction. He then worked at Silverwoods in Lucknow for over 20 years until its closure before taking the job of Road Superintendent of Kinloss Township. He worked at the township until his retirement in 1999. In his retirement, Henry enjoyed a bit of travel, hunting and fishing and was always ready for a game of cards and a shot of Crown Royal.

Henry was a dedicated member of the Lucknow Legion Br. 309, first becoming a member in 1975. He served as President for two terms and was an Executive Member for many years after that. In 2008 he was awarded with a Life Membership to the Legion, one of their highest honors. Henry was a staple at the Legion for many afternoons throughout the years, always open for a chat.

Henry leaves behind his devoted wife Ethel (Middleton) as well as his two sons Arthur (Kandra) and Lawrence (Donna). He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Courtney (Jamael) Jacklin and Chris (Brianna) Clark and his great grandchild Daniel Jacklin. Henry will be fondly remembered by his siblings Leonard (Wilma) Clarke, Jim (Lorraine) Clark and Dorothy Foxton as well as his in-laws Alice, Lila, Ruth, Margaret, Retta, Lillian (Ken), Norman, Kenneth, Sheila and Edna Middleton as well as countless nieces and nephews.
Henry was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Alice Clark, daughter Julia Ann in infancy, sister Eleanor (Jim) Gibson and in-laws Leonard, Glen, Leith, Betty, Garry, Allen, Larry, Sharon and Rose Middleton, Conrad Pompies, Gerrit VanSligtenhorst, Tom Young and Doug Knocker.

Ethel, Art, Lawrence and the Clark families. We were saddened to read of Henry’s passing. I got to know Henry when working as a butter packer at Silverwoods while in high school. He was always interested in what us young guys had got into over the weekend. Lots of good conversations over the years since. He will be missed in the community.
