Marie Haldenby of Lucknow, Ontario passed away peacefully at University Hospital in London, Ontario on December 25, 2024 at the age of 75.
Beloved wife of the late Barry Haldenby who predeceased her in 2021. Marie was born on April 17, 1949 in Clinton, Ontario to the late Omar and Dora Brooks. Loving mother to Allyson (Mike) Cowan, Jason (Kendra) Haldenby and Rob (Sherri) Haldenby, and an infant daughter who predeceased her. Proud grandmother to Erin Massey, Maghan Cowan, Destinee Shepherd, Daija, Devin, Delilah Haldenby, Trent and Maddy Haldenby and great-grandmother to Ethan and Elyssa Massey, Reo Cowan, and Cooper Haldenby. Adoring sister to Wayne (Judy) Brooks of Waterloo, Ontario, and sister-in-law to Sheila (Bob) Nethercott of Forest, Ontario and George (Cathy) Haldenby of Sarnia, Ontario. Predeceased by her in-laws Harold and Madeline Haldenby. Marie is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marie started a career in hairdressing but found her calling as a Health Care Aide. Marie provided compassion and care to many patients at Braemar Nursing Home and Pinecrest Manor Long-Term Care Home until her retirement in 2014. Marie enjoyed summer vacations at the cottage with her family making memories, spending time with her many friends and was always up for an evening at bingo.
Always the social butterfly Marie made an impact on all she met with her infectious laugh and warm smile. Marie will be remembered for her kindness and generosity and greatly missed by all who knew her.
