Barbara Richardson of Ripley and formerly of Shallow Lake, passed away at Rosewood R-Villa on June 2, 2024 at the age of 79. She was the beloved wife of the late Ray Richardson who predeceased her in 2018. Barb was the dear mother of Jeff (Cathy) of Ripley and Julie of Keswick. Proud grandma of Luke, Travis, Reegan, Rachel, and Matthew.
Also survived by her sister Sylvia (Ronald) Soeder of Stratford, and brother Bob (Alva) Cummings of Elmira, and in-laws Ross Richardson, Carol Richardson (Gord), Ron Richardson (Verna), and Kenny Heuter. Predeceased by her parents Jean (Glew) & Harold Cummings, brother-in-law Reg Richardson and sisters-in-law Bonnie Richardson, Rita Heuter, and Karolyn Richardson.
Barb worked for over 30 years at Shouldice Concrete as the accounts receiveable clerk. Her smiling face was a welcoming presence in the office. She was on the Shallow Lake Figure Skating executive for many years supporting Julie and the rest of the skaters. She happily served her community as a member of the Kinnettes. In her spare time, she kept herself busy crochetting, knitting and gardening. After Ray's death Barb moved to Ripley to live with Jeff and his familly. When she required a little extra care she moved on to Rosewood R-Villa. While there she grew her circle of friends and enjoyed taking part in the activities and listening to her favourite entertainers. She was a good worker, community member and friend, but her greatest role was that of grandma. She cherished all of her grandchildren. They were the loves of her life.
Private family arrangements have been entrusted to MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley.

So sorry to hear of your mom's passing Jeff. It is always difficult to lose a parent, no matter how old you may be when they pass. Please know that we are thinking of you and your boys.

I’m at a loss as most family members are when you lose someone so close to you and dearly love I’ll always cherish any times I had together with her from our summer vacations on our grandparents farm near Clinton and the many things we did as adults. L love your dearly always loving brother
Jeff, Julie and families we're thinking of you all during your time of loss. Your mom was warm and welcoming to us. I remember a barbecue up at your parent's home in Shallow Lake. Ray was manning the grill and your mom was smiling. She seemed to be genuinely happy to host the whole crew from Ripley! I hope happy memories like this one bring some comfort to you.
My deepest condolences to the family. My fondest memory of Barb, she was my model going through hair styling school. And what a trooper. First haircut taking 3 1/2 hours without complaining. Barb, you were a fantastic lady and you will surely be missed!! My heart breaks.
