Obituary

RAYNARD, Douglas Nelson - Passed away peacefully in his sleep at Barnswallow Long Term Care Facility in Elmira, Ontario on Friday, April 19, 2024 in his 88th year.  He was born outside of Lucknow on May 22nd, 1936.
Beloved husband of Mary Lou Raynard (McAllister) for almost 59 years.   Father of Diane (London), Debbie and Peter (Barrie), and Donna & Cory (Kitchener), grandchildren Kaitlyn and Tyler (Kitchener), brother of Chris (Goderich), sister-in-law Norma (Lucknow), brother-in-law Bill (West Wawanash).  Predeceased by his parents Clara (Ritchie) and Nelson Raynard, siblings Dorothy and Donald Murray, Lillian and Russel Irvin, Ruth and Fred Shropshall, brother Bruce and sister-in-law Patricia Raynard.

Doug loved his life farming, and then transitioned into the restaurant and catering business working alongside Mary Lou. Upon retirement they moved to Listowel, remaining active in the community and church.  He was always up for a game of cards, a Sunday drive to check out the crops, and the drive usually ended up dropping in to see family or friends.  He was devoted to his family and the community, always willing to give a helping hand where needed.

Visitation is planned for Tuesday, April 30th from 11-1pm, and the funeral to follow at 1:30 pm.  Internment at Greenhill Cemetery.  Lunch to follow at the Lucknow Legion.

All of you were so very active in our community, and Doug was always willing to help and to participate in what ever was happening: church, cards, dinners, fund raisers, catering, etc..
