Nancy Elizabeth Cameron (nee Shelley) of Lucknow passed away peacefully at Wingham Hospital on Sunday April 14th, 2024 in her 72nd year. Beloved wife of Jack Cameron for 46 years. She is survived by her children Brent Cameron (Janna) of Toronto, Adam Cameron (Andrea) of Burlington, David Cameron (Sarah) of Kitchener, Meagan Ocholik (James) of Lucknow. Cherished grandma to her 8 grandchildren, Kaylen, Avery, Emma, Will, Isaac, Eli, Olivia, and Remy. Survived by her siblings Dianne Romano, Gordon Shelley (Marie), Joyce Reid (Don), John Shelley (Mee), as well as sister-in-laws Sandy Graham (Hugh), Lynda Weatherdon (Glen) and brother-in-law Douglas Cameron (Anette). She is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Clarence and Velma Shelley of Mitchell, brothers-in-law Vince Romano, Wayne Wettlaufer and sister-in-law Marilyn Wettlaufer.
Nancy grew up in Mitchell and relocated to Ashfield Township after her marriage to Jack. She cherished her role as an educator at Victoria, Holmesville, and Brookside Public School, where she dedicated many years before her retirement. Nancy's passion for teaching persisted as she continued to serve as a substitute teacher and volunteer at Brookside, as well as with Cradlelink (a program to help young mothers.) She was deeply engaged in the life of Trinity United Church, serving as a choir member, substitute preacher, Sunday school teacher, and board chair. An avid sports enthusiast, Nancy enjoyed playing baseball with the Ashfield A's and curling during the winter months. Summers were spent at her beloved cottage by the lake.
Nancy had a zest for travel, including a year-long teaching exchange in Australia where she explored both Australia and New Zealand extensively. Her adventures also took her to Britain, Scotland, Ireland, China, Portugal and many Caribbean islands, and she enjoyed numerous cruises with her family and friends. In retirement, she and Jack explored North America in their RV. Nancy was also a devoted crafter, continually creating crocheted gifts for her grandchildren, from blankets to hats and stuffed animals.
Nancy bravely battled cancer to the end, showing remarkable resilience and strength. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In Nancy’s memory, donations can be made to Trinity United Church or Wingham and District Hospital Foundation.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Puntillo, the caring nurses at Wingham Hospital, and the dedicated community care partners.

My sincere condolences to you, Jack and all of your family. It was always good to have a catch-up with Nancy at Lions functions, meals and working in the booth where she was always organized and helpful. May your many wonderful memories of your life together help you at this sad time. Rest In Peace, Nancy.
Our Sincere Sympathy to you Jack and your family. Last year at Citrus Ridge, I enjoyed chatting with you and Nancy. Nancy and I talked about the Ashfield community, Trinity, but mostly about your children and Grandchildren. Her love overflowed for them. She talking about having them visit and making clothing for them. Her Grandchildren will cherish Nancy’s gifts. I pray your cherished memories will bring you comfort and peace in the coming days.
Dear Jack .
I have been blessed to meet you and Nancy and feel heartbroken for your loss Jack. You two fought a gallant fight. Hang on to your memories and love ones . Nancy was a special lady. I see she touched a lot of hearts. Prayers to you and your family

Dear Jack, Meg, David, Brent and Adam and families,
We were so very sorry to hear such sad news about our dearest friend Nancy. Our thoughts and our prayers are with you all at this difficult time in your lives.
We will dearly miss her as our friend, her lovely e mails so full of family news and travel and talks on FaceTime. It seems hard for us to believe this has happened dear Jack. Our golf club group were very saddened too and many of them have told me how sad they were to hear this news - you are all in their thoughts too.
Love from all - Ursula, Graeme, Mark, Kate, Dale, Blake and Miranda xx Lal Lal, Victoria, Australia.
Uncle Jack, Meagan, Brent, Adam, David...holding you tightly in my heart at this difficult time, and sharing the many memories of Aunt Nancy that were part of my world growing up. She was part of the village that raised me. My bookshelf is peppered with the books she gave me "from one of the Cameron cousins" at Christmas every year - Anne of Green Gables, Charlotte's Web, Stuart Little...so many of the books I cherished as a child, and still do today, are her legacy. Summers by the water and trips to Goderich, with homemade salmon salad sandwiches. And, her laugh, I can hear her laugh. When I went through a rough patch as a teenager, she wrote me an incredible, heartfelt, honest letter talking about our relationship; I still have that letter, it meant so much to me, I wish I'd told her that. To me, she was organized, capable, generous, unflappable, joyful, adventurous, and she loved each of you, Uncle Jack and her children, your spouses, and your children so abundantly, so proudly, so...HUGELY. As you work through this unbearable grief, know that so many are thinking of you, thinking of her, and honouring her impact on so many people. Love and hugs, Rebecca

Jack and Family, so sad to hear of Nancys passing. I had the opportunity to have our last visit not that long ago on one of her visits to the store. As a student at Brookside, to playing baseball with her and then getting to know her through our visits when she came to get pampered at the salon and shopping at IWTB she was always so supportive and I will miss seeing her and hearing about how proud she was of her family. Thinking of you all during this time.
