Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Charles Newman, 64, of Ripley. He passed away on Saturday, April 13th peacefully in the Owen Sound Hospital, with family by his side.

Wayne was born on February 11, 1960 to Gwendolyn and Bruce Newman in St Thomas, Ontario, and he lived his childhood in West Lorne, Ontario.
Wayne, also known as Papa or Hippy, loved to spend his time outdoors. If he wasn't fishing or camping on the island, he was spending his time in the garden or having beers with his friends.  Wayne was well known for being a mechanic at Kin-Farm Tire in Bervie for almost 23 years where they treated him like family.

Wayne was predeceased by his father Bruce Newman and brother Dave Newman (Beverly). He is survived by his daughter Tasha Newman, daughter Corey Bradley (Lucas), grandchildren Jaxon and Mackenzi Bradley, mother Gwendolyn Newman Szabo, brother Rob Newman (Janice), brother Micheal Newman (Carol), as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Ripley (18 Jessie St.) on Sunday, April 21 from 1pm to 4pm. In lieu of flowers, Wayne's grandchildren meant the world to him so he would be grateful for any donations to a Trust Account for their education. Donations can be made to tashanewman01@gmail.com.

A second celebration will be planned in West Lorne at a future date.
