Joan Roe (nee Peelar) of Huron Kinloss, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Kincardine Hospital on Friday February 23, 2024 at the age of 80. She was born in Weston, Ontario on July 28, 1943, daughter of the late Audrey (nee Coombs) and John Peelar. Beloved wife of Ernest for 54 years. Dear mother of Gary and proud Grammie of Morgan and Clayton. Also survived by son-in-law Rob and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and her precious sons Wayne, Kevin, and Steve.
Joanie as she was often referred to was a bus driver for Travelways in Kincardine for many years. There were several sports teams that she drove around for playoffs and special events like the Plowing Match. Shortly after they married, Joan and Ernie moved to Huron Kinloss where they have resided for over 30 years. Joan’s greatest pleasure was when she was entertaining and serving a meal. If company was coming there was always a big potato and carrot salad made. She loved flowers and was an avid plant lover. She will be remembered and missed by many friends and neighbours in the community she called home.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Dear Ernie and Gary, our memories go way back, so many things we did through the years!
One was back in 1979 when we got tickets to see Charley Pride in Primrose, who would we leave the boys with? I ask Joan if she would keep 6 week old Darren, and did she jump at the chance! She loved it!
Another was our trip to Collingwood several years ago! You both enjoyed the sights and sounds of the day, plus dinner at the Crystal Buffet! Sadly no longer there!
I will miss the phone calls from Joan, she always ask if I was busy before launching into our exchange of happenings!
Joan has fought a tough battle, and hard as it is, she is at peace now, no more suffering, no more not being able to do things she enjoyed. She is free to shop, eat, move about freely, at last!
My thoughts and prayers are with you both as you move ahead without Joan to help you both.
We are always here if you need anything just phone!
RIP my dear friend Joan, you have earned your rest.
Deepest sympathy to all of Joan’s family.
Joan and Wayne Hartwick
I’ll miss my chats with Joan, she was a sweet lady, a long time customer at Lucknow Co-op, she was always taking the time to ask how I was and tell me in return about her day. Rest in peace Joan ❤️
