Joan Roe (nee Peelar) of Huron Kinloss, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Kincardine Hospital on Friday February 23, 2024 at the age of 80. She was born in Weston, Ontario on July 28, 1943, daughter of the late Audrey (nee Coombs) and John Peelar. Beloved wife of Ernest for 54 years. Dear mother of Gary and proud Grammie of Morgan and Clayton. Also survived by son-in-law Rob and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and her precious sons Wayne, Kevin, and Steve.Joanie as she was often referred to was a bus driver for Travelways in Kincardine for many years. There were several sports teams that she drove around for playoffs and special events like the Plowing Match. Shortly after they married, Joan and Ernie moved to Huron Kinloss where they have resided for over 30 years. Joan’s greatest pleasure was when she was entertaining and serving a meal. If company was coming there was always a big potato and carrot salad made. She loved flowers and was an avid plant lover. She will be remembered and missed by many friends and neighbours in the community she called home.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
