Frances Elphick of Lucknow passed on September 22, 2023 at Maitland Manor, Goderich at the age of 87 years. She was the beloved wife of the late David Elphick who predeceased her in 2022. Dear mother of Donna Elphick and her partner Greg Liddle of Goderich. Survived by her siblings Mary Irwin of New Market, Dorothy Harris of Australia, and Don Alton of Lucknow.Predeceased by her parents Jessie and Bert Alton, granddaughter Jacqueline, brother Ken Alton, and sister Joanne Alton.
Fran loved all things that grew. Whether it was a tree, vegetable, calf, flower, duck or lost lamb Fran would caarefully tend to it and ensure it grew strong and healthy. She used her skills well and served the community by being a long-time member of the Ripley Horticultural Society, and was a leader for the 4H Homemaking club. Her love of baking was evident in the number of pies she prepared and served at the Sales Barn over the years, People from far and wide would come to the sales and enjoy a piece of Fran's homemade pie to top off their day.
In her later years she kept busy baking, oil painting, and quilting. Her busy hands are now at rest.
