We are very sad to announce the passing of our mother Luba Anne Strutton of St. Helens, Ontario.
She was born in 1937 in Winnipeg Manitoba. Predeceased by her parents Mike and Wasalyna Michalyna, her husband John Edward Strutton, her sister Mary Taylor, and her beloved son Johnny and his partner Joanne Trecartin.
Luba passed peacefully on July 28, 2023. She was loved and will be missed by her children Sylvia, Mike and his wife Natasha, and Chris and his wife Sherri. Luba was very proud of her grandchildren Taylor, Christina, and Ella and her great-grandchild Zoey. Her fridge was always covered with pictures of her family.
Hers was a life filled with love, adventure, mischief, and a deep love of family and the natural world. Luba was a woman of many talents, her crafting brought joy to many people and her children. She was always drying flowers and making essences to share with others. She had an extremely kind and generous heart and was always there for support whenever it was needed. She treasured life, was kind, strong, and always present for a good laugh. She saw the positive in every situation. Luba was an inspiration to all and will be deeply missed by family, friends, and neighbors, and at the same time, it is with glad hearts that we are grateful to have had her in our lives.
The family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to the dedicated friends and amazing neighbors in the St. Helens community who supported our mom over the years. This enabled her to remain in her loving home until she passed. Thank you also to the Doctors, Nurses, Ambulance, and Mobility Bus drivers who made sure she was able to live her life to the fullest.
A celebration of life will be held at the St Helens Community Hall on Saturday, August 26th from 1 pm to 3 pm.

I was very saddened to hear of Luba's passing. I knew Luba from our years at Western Tech. She was a good friend of My sister Teresa and we saw her on occasion when she came to Toronto. I have some of her art work framed and hanging in my home. She was a lovely woman and will be sorely missed.
Sincere condolences,
John Lemme

I have been so grateful for Luba’s generous and loving friendship in my life. Her zest for Life, her creativity and her independent spirit, even in times of hardship or loss, have helped me to keep on keeping on, many a time.
My mom, Evelyn, and I would try to share a Chinese dinner meal with Luba, close to each of their birthdays in the summertime. Laughter and stories and a feeling of family were always a wonderful outcome of those times together.
Dropping by at Luba’s in harvest season, to find her gathering apples, tending her yard, or zooming around on her mower- these memories will linger.
May the memories you’ve harvested in your years with this wonderful, wise, and loving woman, Luba, whether as family, neighbours or friends, be a comfort to you during this sorrowful time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you,
Joanne Howe
To Luba's family, sorry to hear of Luba's passing I wish to offer my condolence to all of you from Lois Chamney and family. I was able to get Mom out to see Luba one last time while she was still able to get in and out of car & before my Mom passed. They had a nice visit. Mom considered Luba a great friend and they had many talents that they shared. Luba was a kind and witty talented lady. Hugs to all. Barb Pletch

My condolences to Luba’s family. She was always willing to share. Stories, knowledge, food, time. I learned a lot from Luba. If you went somewhere with Luba and Mary you were guaranteed a memorable time, filled with laughter. She will definitely live on in our memories.
It with great sadness that I learned of Luba’s passing. I found her to be very artistic, in fact I have a couple of her artwork in my home.. She was always jolly and friendly with a great sense of humour. She will be sorely missed.
My sympathy goes out to all the family — Luba was such a kind-hearted lady and I enjoyed the time that I spent with her as a neighbour in St. Helen's. She was ready to lend a hand and listen with compassion. My heart goes out to you at this sad time.
