Alexander Ross, beloved Husband of the late Shirley Ross (Woods) of Point Clark, passed away at Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow on Thursday in his 86th year. Alex grew up farming in Elora and Rothsay. Upon turning 21 he moved to Kitchener-Waterloo and then to Toronto working mostly as a truck driver hauling mining equipment throughout Ontario and Quebec and buying and selling cars. In 1951 Alex and Shirley moved from Toronto and bought a farm near Listowel, Ontario. They farmed near Listowel until 1990 when they moved to Point Clark to enjoy Lake Huron by playing many card games with friends and family and watching the spectular sunsets. Most enjoyed by Alex were the annual trips to Florida and the dances he attended in the community.Survived by daughter Janice Ross, son Stephen (Lynn) Ross and son-in-law Ted Doherty all of Calgary. Also greatly missed by grandchildren Victoria (Jackson) Ross, Danny Doherty, Hayley Ross and Jack Ross, his sisters Eleanor Beatty of Kitchener and Doris Jean (Allan) Henderson of Listowel and brothers-in-law Russel (Betty) Woods of Bellwood and Murray Woods of Guelph. Predeceased by daughter Barbara, sister-in-law Emily Woods and brothers-in-law Johnson (Ruby) Woods and Cecil Beatty.
