September 15, 2022
Paul Simpson, of Ashfield Township, passed away at the Alexandra Marine & General Hospital, Goderich, on Thursday September 15, 2022 at the age of 64. He was born in Wingham on December 17, 1957 to the late Edith (Elliott) and Donald Simpson. Greatly missed by wife Brenda and siblings Betty Anne (Rob), Alex (Cindy), Jim, Donald (Dianne), Rod (Annette), Steve (Tracey), Helen (Gord) and Christine (Dave). Much loved by daughters Braidyn (Steve), Brianne (Curtis), son Justin (Jen) and grandchildren Colton, Jaxson, Olivia, Jaelyn, Keegan, Lillian, Brantley, Nolan, Nova, Shelby and Tyler. Also survived by sisters-in-law Debbie (Bob), Lisa (Shawn), Angela (Paul) and Janice (Harry), father-in-law Brian Berry and several nieces and nephews. Honourary Papa to Gerard, Jack and Kolette Gillespie. Ever missed by his faithful companion and co-pilot Bronagh. Predeceased by brothers Bill and Elliott Simpson and mother-in-law Dorothy Barry. Paul was an electrician for many years but had also travelled throughout Canada working on the oil fields. He lived in Toronto until coming home to farm in Kintail, a place he had always had a deep family connection with. Farming continued to be his passion. He met his saving grace Brenda and soon loved being a papa. He will forever be remembered for his opinion that “everything tastes better with ketchup”. A graveside service will be held at the Kintail Cemetery on Tuesday September 20, 2022 at 2 PM. Paul’s request was for all attending to please wear something colourful- anything but black!
