Our sincere condolences for your loss. It was a pleasure getting to know Herb while I was working at Nine Mile and reminising with him over Russell being his paper boy as a child. He was such a kind and funny man!

Cathy, Tom, Susan, Jim, Kevin, Doug. So sorry to hear about Uncle Herb's passing. He was a wonderful, warm and loving man, and a terriffic Uncle. Always full of stories, a man who loved music and his family. Uncle Herb's (and Aunt Alene's) home was always a place where we as family were always welcome, and we were happy to be a part of. We will all miss him, and his potato soup, but know he is now with this beloved Alene. Love Carol Christie (neice) & family, and Gloria Wettlaufer (neice) & family.
Cathy,Tom, Susan, Jim, Kevin, Doug: So sad to hear about Herb's passing. Since his hearing loss, I have missed our phone conversations and talking about old times. Over 70 years of our family friendships and many "adventures", Herb's warm, and friendly way is a great loss to all who knew him. Love Mary Clark (sister-in-law)

Our deepest condolences with the loss of your amazing father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a great friend to Mom and Dad. When Mom and him were both in the hospital at the same time I took Mom into his room to visit and they were so happy to see each other. There will be a lot of laughter and many a card game in heaven now. You are all in our thoughts

Jean and I are deeply saddened to learn of Herb's passing. Our sincere expressions of symapthy to the Clark family at this sad time.
When I worked for the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources in Wingham, Herb was my boss and mentor. I spet many fine hours with Herb and learned a great deal, he was superb to work for. He and Alene treated me like a son at times and I thoroughly enjoyed spending time at their home in Lucknow and the faboulous meals.
He will be sadly missed but remember he had a long life with many remarkable achievements and the stories we could tell are priceless.
Sincerely, Rene and Jean Jones

Dear Tom and Cathie, Susan, Jimmy, Kevin, Douglas and families:. We are so sorry to hear of Herb's passing. We have so many fond memories of your Dad and the entire household. The house was always warm and welcoming and full of music. I'm sure Herbie's up there with a bunch of fiddlers while Arlene's by his side.
Missing all you guys. Sending love and support. Bruce and Lynda

Thinking about everyone and sending heartfelt sympathy to Herb’s family. Herb certainly touched many lives and worked for the good of the environment and community.
I fondly remember the card games with Herb as my partner. Grant and Gord accused us of cheating. That twinkle in his eye usually meant to take that card up! Herb always helped the Anglican Church ladies with meals at the Parish Hall. Lots of wonderful memories for his family to treasure.

Herb and I shared a decade of work-related and family memories with the Department of Lands & Forest in the Lake Huron District out of Hespeler and the Ministry of Natural Resources out of Wingham. He was for me, in many ways, the soul of those times: always open & positive, an innovative team member, a change leader, congenial diplomat, and a wickedly humourous peer. My memories range from throwing quartres against the basement wall after a Pheasant Committe meeting in the Blenheim Township offices at Drumbo with Erwin Haines and Ed Meadows; banding pheaseants with the Oxford County Pheasant Committee, searching for the Conservation Officers who drowned at Luther Marsh; purrchasing and developing the Hullett Wildlife Manaagement Area and the Port Albert Fishway;hunting bunnies with the 'Ding' and his beagles; strategizing with Rene Jones and Roy Bellinger about promoting the county deer hunts; rennovating the barn for visitor services presentations at Point Farms Provincial Park; staff Christmas dinners with Dawn and John Dobell; and hosting the Huron County Council at the annual Hullett BBQs. Rene and I enjoyed a last reunion lunch at Nine Mile Villa with him and Alene jusr before her death. My deepest condolences go out to has children and the other family members for their loss of a special Dad, Grandparent and Great Grandparent.

Dear Tom and family,
May I express my deepest sympathies on the passing of your Dad. I did not have the privilege of meeting him but you spoke so fondly of him and your Mom I thought I knew them. May he rest in peace.

I will miss you Grampa. I smiled through my tears when I thought of what you said to me when I visited Gramma for the last time. "Happier days ahead, Shelly." All my life, you had the words to make things better. I loved our walks to look for pennies and get ice cream and our swims at McKim's pool. I loved making sausage and wine and potato soup with you, climbing up to cuddle on your knee, and hearing you play fiddle and banjo. I loved the way you and Gramma loved each other and everyone in your family. I learned to be kind and help others through your example. Jake, the girls and I will miss you, but we are all happier knowing you and Gramma are at your cabin in the sky. Give each other big hugs from us. We love you to the moon and back.

My condolences to the Clark family. I was priviledged to work with Herb at MNR in Wingham and work with him when he was Lucknow's Director on Maitland Valley. Enjoyed more than a few visits with Herb, Alene and Grant Farrish on the front porch. A tree will be planted in memory of Herb at the Memorial Forest at the George Taylor Conservation Area.

I’ll miss my grandpa. He knows how much he meant to myself and my wife and boys. He taught me a lot, caught my first trout with him. He was a no nonsense , grounded , hard man when he had to be. But a joker and always could be counted on for having a ‘cold one’ on hand, when ones lips were dry.
Cheers, Herb I’ll miss our chats.

To the Clark family - sympathy to you all on the passing of a great man. He was a good friend to dad (we still have the canes) and mom. After becoming neighbours in Ostbek, more fun times were had by all four of them. What great memories you will have of a dad who lived a full and rewarding life. Betty Anne (Hunter)
