July 12, 2020

My heart goes out to Julie, Chris, Tracy, Carson, Holden and family.  I have been fortunate enough to share many years of friendship with  Paul and Julie with lots of wonderful memories.   Paul was always up for a good banter with a great sense of humour and always willing to help someone.   The way Paul talked about Julie and Chris it was obvious how much he loved them and was very proud of them.   He will be deely missed and fondly remembered.

To Paul's famiily,

What a shock to read about Paul's death. My mother-in-law, Marcia Dawson, who lived in the Sepoy apartments in Lucknow until shortly before her death, had nothing but good to say about Paul as caretaker of the building. She always said that if she needed something tended to in her apartment, that he was there in a flash to help her. He also went above and beyond the call of duty when my sister-in-law and I had to clean out her apartment when she could no longer stay there. He also served as a pallbearer at her funeral, which he said was an honour to do. May you be comforted by the good memories and the love of family and friends at this time.

Sheila Dawson

To all of Paul's family,

I am so beyond sorry to hear of Paul's death. As County of Bruce employees are spread out at various offices, I didn't have the chance to see Paul often, but when I did, his quick wit and sharp sense of humour never went unappreciated. He clearly was a gem and no doubt will be missed beyond measure by all of you.

Julie, my heart goes out to you Christopher, Tracy and all your family.I am blessed that Paul came into my life and I was able to call him my friend. Paul was one of the few truly “Good Guys” in life. The memories of all our good times together and landing the shark will not be forgotten.

You will be missed my friend!

Steve and Lynne Mann - 2020-07-16 18:47:26

Julie, Chris, Tracy, Carson and Holden,

Paul changed the oil in my car at his shop in Lucknow many times. And he loved it when I gave him as hard a time as he gave me. But he always did it with that smile.

Please accept our sympathy in your huge loss,

Lynne and Steve

I was so sad to hear the news of Paul's passing. He was a great colleague, always providing a sarcastic comment and a good laugh. He also cared deeply about the people he worked with. I will certainly miss him and can't begin to imagine the hole he has left. I send my sincere condolences and hope your beautiful memories will soon outweigh your saddness.

Incredibly sad to hear of Paul's sudden passing. We are going to miss him pulling up in front of the building every morning (still expecting it). We've only lived here a year but he made us laugh many times and he definitely loved to tease! Our hearts go out to his wife, son, family, and friends.

Carolyn and Doug Dentinger - 2020-07-14 18:46:28

We were deeply saddened to hear of Paul's sudden passing. He had a big heart and enjoyed life. When you were with him, he was always using his quick wit to make people laugh. He seemed to have nicknames for many friends. If you needed help with something he was there to lend a helping hand.
Julie, Christopher and Tracy during this difficult time of unbelievably grief may the memories and stories shared of Paul bring you some comfort.

Sending our love,

Carolyn (Blondie) and Doug

I am deeply sadened by Paul's sudden passing. Paul and I became good friends through his work at the County of Bruce. I will miss him so much. Erin Begley - 2020-07-14 09:42:10

My dearest "dahling" Julie - my heart, simply put, is broken as I feel all of your sadness and heartache for the loss of Paul.  I am so, so very sorry Chris & Tracy, Carson & Holden, all of Paul's Aussie family, and Beryl, Jac & Ivan & Bekki.  Paul's loss has left a huge hole in the hearts of everyone who knew him.  His personality was as big & as bold as they come yet he was the biggest mush bag who would absolutely do anything for you...but not without letting a sarcastic and insulting remark seep out of his big "Pauly" grin .  I will cherish all of our vacations & adventures together, our amazing dinner parties and Paul just being Paul.  Now Paul & Rich and all the other angels will have to guide us so we can get through these days ahead.  RIP my friend - our hearts ache and we will miss you terribly.  Surrounding you all with love, light & enormous hugs.    XOXOXO  Erin

Carol Phillips - 2020-07-14 06:11:36

I am deeply saddened to read of Paul's passing and my heart goes out to Julie, Chris and family. Paul was a one of kind, some kind of wonderful guy and the years I spent as his neighbouor across the road were some of the best. I hope with all my heart that you find some comfort in the companionship of those around and that there will be story tellers all around for your little ones, so they will always know who Paul was.

I’m so grateful for all the time I was privileged to spend with Paul. He was a man like no other. He loved to tease people and give you a hard time, but in the next breath drop anything to help you out. He may have had a rough and tough exterior but he had the biggest heart of anyone I know.

I can honestly say the love story between Paul and Julie is my favourite - it could easily be made into a Hollywood film. To call you two soul mates would be an understatement. And over the decades the love he had for her never faded.

I will forever cherish the nights playing Dominos, holidays spent together, dinner parties, and all the sarcastic comments followed by a big smile and your infectious laugh.

You’ll never know the hole that is left in our hearts without you here. Love, “Nurse Ratched”
