To the Family of Mary Macdonald.
Our condolences on the passsing of your Aunt Mary. She certainly was a special lady.
My Mom(Kay Dane) often talked about Mary Lyla and the other ladies who attended "Normal School" aka Teachers college. Their friendship was deep and longlasting. Whenever Mom had a chance to go back East she always managed a visit with all of them. The stories they told and laughs they shared were priceless. They could just pick up their visit as if no time had passed at all ! Such a friendship is a treasure for sure. I am sure those gals are chatting up a storm again.

My Mother Marjorie Reid was a good friend of Mary`s through the years they discussed a lot of books .I at one time felt a knew most of the nieces & nephews as Mary liked to relay all your accompishments of which we were interested in also. Mary & I shared the same clothes size so I wore hers & she mine at times.
Memories of love & friendship are treasures to carry with you always.

Aunt Mary demonstrated her love to all of us over and over again through her generosity and kindness. She was so loved in return.

We called her The Great Aunt Mary for a number of reasons other than her being a great aunt to our children. I remember her generosity, her volunteer work. She was a role model for independent women and the below link describes the scholarships that will sustain her memory
